The New York Knicks are deemed to be the perfect landing spot for Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant when he declines his player option this summer; however, they might need to sign another player to lure KD to the Big Apple: Quinn Cook

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Quinn Cook could be a factor in Kevin Durant signing with the Knicks in the summer.

Cook and Durant have a long history together, having played in the same AAU system when they were younger. In fact, when Durant was 12 years old, he had a chance to play against the then seven-year-old Cook.

Some insiders believe that this bond is so strong that it might lead to Durant wanting to package Cook with him in any potential deal with the Knicks.

“There’s been speculation that Durant’s agent, New York-based Rich Kleiman, could join the Knicks front office if Durant comes. One NBA source believes Durant may want Cook to follow him to his next stop, too.”

The Knicks have been a terrible team for quite some time now, but they can turn it around with the help of at least one proven star. If getting Cook will give them any sort of advantage in landing Durant, the team should not hesitate in doing so.
