President of the New York Knicks Phil Jackson seems to feel better about the state of the Knicks. In fact, he tweeted about the changes to the roster:

The Knicks did have an eventful off-season this year. First, they named Jeff Hornacek as the new head coach. Then, they traded away Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant to the Chicago Bulls for former MVP Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday, and a 2017 second round pick. Then they signed Joakim Noah to play center, Courtney Lee to be the new starting shooting guard, and Brandon Jennings to back up Derrick Rose. They also had a few smaller moves, such as bringing back Sasha Vujacic and Lance Thomas, and bringing other players such as Marshall Plumlee, Maurice Ndour, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, and Guillermo Hernangomez.

Overall, the Knicks are making steps in the right direction to become a top tier team in the Eastern Conference again. Hiring Jeff Hornacek as their head coach and trading for a star player that Carmelo desperately needed are steps in the right direction. If everyone on the roster can stay healthy and team chemistry is high, then they could make the playoffs next season, and could shock some people.
