On Wednesday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Thunder officially announced that shooting guard Hamidou Diallo will be out of commission for roughly four weeks after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his right elbow.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his right elbow today, Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced.

Diallo is expected to return to basketball-related activities in approximately four weeks.

Though it's unfortunate, news that Diallo is being ruled out should come as no surprise to Thunder fans, as he hasn't played more than five minutes in any game since the beginning of February.

In 51 appearances with the Thunder this season (three starts), Diallo racked up averages of 3.7 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field (16.7 percent from beyond the arc) and 1.9 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per outing.

The Thunder will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Portland Trail Blazers for Game 3 of their first round playoff series. Currently, Portland is leading the series, 2-0. Needless to say, Oklahoma City will be looking for a win.

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook went 5-of-20 from the field in Tuesday's Game 2 loss, including 1-for-6 mark from beyond the arc. As a result, he took full responsibility:

“I've got to play better,” Westbrook told ESPN during his post-game media availability. “Tonight, the loss, I'm going to take full responsibility of tonight because the way I played was unacceptable. I'm going to be better.”
