OKLAHOMA – With the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers heading into Oklahoma City Tuesday night for a nationally televised game, the availability of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony is still up in the air, according to Thunder coach Billy Donovan.
“I haven’t had any conversations with them about tomorrow yet,” Donovan said after Monday’s practice. “So we will have to wait and see how they feel coming out of today and see how they do tomorrow.”
Both Westbrook and Anthony did participate in practice with the rest of the Thunder Monday and went through every drill.
“They ran stuff today, with a lot of non-contact stuff with the back to back coming up,” Donovan said. “We got shots, we worked on some defensive stuff, concepts. We scripted the offense. They were out there going through it.”
Westbrook and Anthony have missed Oklahoma City's last two games with ankle sprains. They are 1-1 in those contests. That includes a 110-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday night.

Cleveland (33-22) should be a different type of challenge for Oklahoma City (32-25), even if Westbrook and Anthony play. The addition of Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance Jr. and George Hill at the trade deadline to a team featuring LeBron James has changed the dynamic of the squad.
Donovan knows the Cavs squad the Thunder rolled over 148-124 on January 20th is not the same one coming to the Chesapeake Energy Arena Tuesday.
“They played obviously a great game against Boston,” Donovan said of Cleveland. “It’s a lot to get prepared for from the standpoint that their team has changed drastically personal wise from the last time we played them.”
