It's safe to say Thunder star Russell Westbrook still cares far more about triple-doubles than he often prefers to suggest. On Friday, though, there's no doubt whatsoever that the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar has almost completely overlooked his historic streak coming to an end.
Westbrook made history before the All-Star break by notching triple-doubles in 11 consecutive games, beating Wilt Chamberlain's previous record of nine straight games accomplished back in 1968. His run came to an end against the Utah Jazz on Friday, however, when the 2017 MVP dropped a ho-hum 43 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists on 15-of-29 shooting – including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc! – in the Thunder's 148-147 victory over the Utah Jazz.

The scariest part for the rest of the league? Westbrook, who fouled out in the first extra session, wasn't even Oklahoma City's best player against its budding rival. That label goes to Paul George, who continued strengthening his MVP case by dropping 45 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists on 17-of-31 shooting. George wasn't just all numbers, either, coming up big multiple times when his team needed him most. The All-Star starter hit a side-stepping three-pointer to tie the game late in regulation, then drained a wild, off-balance, high-arching floater to give the Thunder a victory with just 1.7 seconds left on the clock.
Oklahoma City, 38-20, is now just two games back of the Denver Nuggets for second place in the Western Conference.
