Anthony Davis knows his New Orleans Pelicans will have to make plenty of adjustments for Game 2 against the Golden State Warriors, with the impending return of Stephen Curry.
But the team's focus will center around correcting their Game 1 mistakes, even if Curry's return brings yet another layer of elite-level shooting to an already well-enforced cast.
“We’re going to do the same thing that we’ve been doing, without the breakdowns,” Davis told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “He does the same thing that Klay and K.D. do. Throw into the post, they come off screens. He can dribble down and just pull up. So we’re gonna be more locked-in defensively, especially with him coming back.”

The Pelicans will especially look into putting out the flames of a 41-point second quarter, which set all the difference for a Warriors team that could confidently rest its starters with a 103-74 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
“But for us, it’s all about pride,” added Davis. “What they did in the second quarter was an embarrassment to us. We’re not that type of team. … We came out and missed shots, and let that dictate our defense. So of course, we have to put the ball in the basket. But at the same time, we got to play a little bit of defense.”
Davis started the game off with a bang, making five of his first six field goals, but was shut out in the second quarter, giving him a team-worst minus-21 plus-minus rating despite a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double.
