On Monday afternoon, the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers faced each other on the NBA's MLK Jr. Day headline. The 76ers would end up stopping the Raptors's comeback bid to win the game 117-111, but there was a key altercation down the stretch that affected both teams. In the closing seconds of the game, Kyle Lowry and Ben Simmons were engaged in an altercation and were ejected as a result.

In the video, it appears that Simmons signaled for Lowry to meet him in the tunnel, with Lowry happily agreeing. According to Olgun Uluc of Fox Sports, Lowry did just that while Simmons headed promptly to the locker room, avoiding any possible fracas.

Kyle Lowry tried to pursue Ben Simmons after the pair were ejected from today's game, per a source. I'm told Simmons went straight to the locker room; never made contact with Lowry.

Simmons may have avoided Lowry, but he did express that he was fed up with veteran players picking on him this NBA season.

“I’m not going to take s*** from anybody. I think they’re just trying to test me. I don’t know if they’re trying to test me, or seeing how I am on the court, but I won’t play around.”

If Lowry and Simmons did engage in some type of “extracurricular activity,” they would have likely received a heavy punishment by the NBA. Therefore, it's a positive thing that both players ended up avoiding a damaging incident. The Raptors are currently ranked third in the Eastern Conference and the 76ers are in ninth place. Therefore, both teams need all of their players to continue competing in the regular season.
