Ben Simmons’ performance on Wednesday night was one of his best so far in his pro career, as he recorded a monster triple-double after only 22 minutes of action. That included some on-point dimes, and a highlight reel worthy poster slam on Chicago Bulls swingman Justin Holiday.

With how powerful he threw it down and not minding the defender’s challenge, it’s not hard to see the top overall pick of 2016 proud of what he did. He even took to his Twitter account to post a picture of the slam, which included an emoji with a hand covering the mouth.

Simmons finished the game with 19 points, 17 rebounds and 14 assists to lead the Sixers to their fourth win in their last five outings. The Sixers also improved their record to 23-21 for the season to strengthen their hold on seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Through 43 games, Simmons is proving to all his doubters that he is the real deal and that the 76ers did the right thing of being patient in waiting for him to be 100 percent. He has been on a tear since debuting for them, and is averaging 16.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 35.1 minutes per game. Many see him as the leading candidate for the Rookie of the Year award, and if he continues to play at this level, it won’t come as a surprise if he will be given the trophy by the end of the season.
