The Philadelphia 76ers have officially been eliminated from title contention, with the Sixers being ousted from the postseason in the Eastern Conference semifinal round in each of the last two seasons.

However, 76ers head coach Brett Brown, who will remain at the helm in Philadelphia going forward, believes that the team's recent Game 7 loss to the advancing Toronto Raptors could serve as a major learning experience for both point guard Ben Simmons and big man Joel Embiid.

It is also worth noting that Embiid was visibly distraught following the weekend loss on the road in Toronto, leading to a ton of media attention ever since.

“That deflation, that moment, I think has a chance to be incredibly powerful for Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons,” Brown recently said, via The Athletic. “It hasn’t made me into a woe-is-me mood. In fact, I’m going the other way. I’m doubling down on what I believe in and what we’ve been doing.

“The ability to have a team back and have corporate knowledge and continuity and carryover, that’s when you can take off. That’s when coaching and playing has a chance to go to a higher level,” he said. “That’s my mood. That’s how I see the world truly. I’m just so excited to start [on next season] when I’m able.”

With Brown and the 76ers now out of the fold in the Eastern Conference, the aforementioned Raptors will be taking on the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks for the right to play in the 2018-19 NBA Finals.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors will be battling it out with the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference.
