The Philadelphia 76ers have been pretty successful over the last few years. However, one team aspect they've whiffed on as of late has been their draft selections. Save for Joel Embiid, Philly's drafting has been underwhelming, to say the least. Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, the list goes on.
For Zhaire Smith, at least, his biggest problem has been his health, as he's battled injury after injury in his career. The Sixers' lottery pick in 2018, Smith has battled injuries and life-threatening allergies. In a recent update on his Twitter account, he talked about the reason why he's missed so much time as of late.

Zhaire Smith is currently without a team right now, as he has been bouncing between teams after his trade from Philadelphia. It was a combination of injuries and bad timing that did him in: the Sixers were in the middle of contending, and could not afford to give Smith his reps in during the season.
What's interesting here, though, is the news about Smith's knee issues. That knee injury was one of the reasons why the Sixers traded him from the team. It's unfortunate that he still has lingering issues about that knee. However, the fact that he seems well enough to compete is a great sign for him.
Smith's career is far from over. At 22 years old, he still has the potential to blossom into a bona fide NBA player. However, he first needs to take care of the injuries that has plagued him since his time with the Sixers.
