The Sixers won't have the services of All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler on Thursday against the best team in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks.

Butler is dealing with back soreness and won't play after playing 33 minutes on Wednesday.

Jimmy Butler hurt is back last weekend against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He missed one game and then returned to the lineup on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. The Sixers lost to Atlanta.

Since Thursday is the second night of a back-to-back, it makes sense the Sixers are resting Butler with the playoffs right around the corner.

In 64 games this season with the Timberwolves and Sixers, Butler is averaging 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per contest. The four-time All-Star is shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Sixers are 49-29 on the season. They are in the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

After Thursday, Philly has three games left in the regular season. The team's new and improved starting lineup of Ben Simmons, J.J. Redick, Butler, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid has only played in 10 games together. The Sixers are 8-2 in those 10 games.
