When the Philadelphia 76ers traded for James Harden mid-season, many expected Joel Embiid and the rest of the Sixers to take some time to adjust to his game. After all, Harden is a player who thrives with the ball on his hands.

Put simply, adding another offensive juggernaut to the team–unlike Ben Simmons who is a pass and defense-first guard–was expected to not go smoothly at all.

However, according to Embiid, that was not the case at all. After their dominant performance in Game 1 of their playoff series with the Toronto Raptors, the Cameroonian big man opened up about the Sixers' adjustment with Harden and how easy it has been.

“It was easy. It was natural. We talk a lot, we’re very close–the team as a whole, actually…” Embiid said when asked on the process of learning to play with Harden, per Sixers reporter Lauren Rosen. “I know I trust him to make the right plays.”

That is exactly what Sixers fans want to hear, and to be fair, it's more than lip service.

On Saturday against the Raptors, they showed that chemistry with the trio of James Harden, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid combining for 79 points for the 131-111 win. Maxey top-scored for Philly with 38, while Harden had 14 dimes to get things going offensively for the team.

Embiid, for his part, had a monster double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds.

The Sixers need to perform like they did against the Raptors if they want any chance to win the title. And by the looks of it, they are trending in that direction.
