Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid suffered a nasty facial contusion during last night's game that left a lot of people concerned. He even spent the night at the hospital to undergo further testing and according to Keith Pompey of The Inquirer, Embiid will miss at least the next two games.

Joel Embiid will be sidelined for at least the 76ers’ next two games because of what the team is calling a facial contusion. However, Embiid might have suffered a fracture to the orbital bone of his left eye, sources said Thursday, adding that his eye looked kind of caved.

The 76ers left for Atlanta on Thursday for a two-game road trip that starts on Friday night against the Hawks and Embiid wasn't along for the trip.

After going out with the injury during Wednesday night's game Embiid was checked for a concussion and he passed the test. He is probably going to get more second opinions on his face in the next couple of days.

If Embiid were to miss some time with injury it could prove to be costly to the 76ers. They currently sit in the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference but they only sit a half game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers who sit in the 3rd spot. If they were able to move up to the third spot it would help them miss the Toronto Raptors for an extra round in the playoffs.

Embiid is having an impressive year averaging 22.9 points, 11 rebound, and 3.2 assists in 63 games. He is shooting 48.3 percent from the field, and 30.8 percent from deep.

With Embiid out look for Dario Saric being more aggressive in the next couple of games.
