It was rumored that if the Philadelphia 76ers lost Game 7 of their second-round Eastern Conference playoff series to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, the 76ers would ultimately fire head coach Brett Brown.
Well, Philadelphia fell to Toronto by a score of 92-90, meaning that Brown is on the hot seat.
The Sixers players do not want him to go, however.
J.J. Redick has already expressed his support for Brown, and now, Joel Embiid has followed suit, saying that if anyone should take the blame, it should be Embiid himself.

He has done a fantastic job,” said Embiid of the rumors surrounding Brown, according to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice. “I don't think he should have anything to worry about. Amazing coach, better person, and obviously I got a lot of love for him. If there was someone to blame, put it all on me. I take it all, you can put this loss on me, you can put it all on me. Don't just put it on the coach or anybody else. … I love when you guys or anybody else talk (expletive), I see it all.”
Brown took over as 76ers head coach back in 2013 and has posted a record of 178-314 over his first six years. Of course, that record is a bit misleading, as Philadelphia was openly tanking in each of Brown's first three seasons at the helm.
Over the last two years, Brown has led the Sixers to 52 and 51 wins, respectively, to go along with a pair of second-round playoff exits.
