The Philadelphia 76ers' preparations for their first-round matchup against the Toronto Raptors are in full swing. Sixers superstar Joel Embiid knows what's at stake so he's making sure his whole team is ready for what should be a very tough challenge ahead.
On Friday, Embiid revealed how practices have been quite intense for the Sixers of late. So much so, that Embiid admits to being involved in a bit of a heated altercation with teammate Tobias Harris:
“Today, we had a pretty good practice and we were getting on each other,” Embiid explained, via Justin Grasso of Fan Nation. “If Tobias talks, he’ll tell you; I was locking his a** up. I was just talking to him and letting him know. He was getting mad, but he knows it’s not personal. I want him to be better and I want all of them to be better.”

As it turns out, Embiid unleashed his full smack-talking wrath in practice — on one of his Sixers teammates. Harris did not appear to take pleasure in Embiid's trash-talking (and his defense, of course) and it sounds like the pair went at it a bit.
Embiid clearly has no regrets about it, though. The Sixers star knows that this is all part of the process and that he's only doing it to push his teammates to be the best versions of themselves. The outspoken big man also has no intention of changing his ways anytime soon.
“That’s the only way I know,” Embiid continued. “Like I always said, I’m not here to worry about people’s feelings. I want to win. To be able to win, I need everybody and I need to challenge them.”
