Amid all the trade drama going on between Ben Simmons and the Sixers, the former Rookie of the Year is making sure that he's keeping in shape. A clip of Simmons taking (and making!) jumpers during a workout session has been making its rounds all over the internet and one man who's taken notice is none other than Shaquille O'Neal.

Shaq recently weighed in on the Ben Simmons fiasco in Philly, and the Hall of Fame big man admitted that he doesn't think Simmons is going to be returning to the Sixers for the upcoming season:

“I say no,” Shaq said, via Nico Martinez of Fadeaway World. “He hasn’t had a lot of communication with them this summer. He hasn’t gotten any better over the last four years. If you don’t have communication with upstairs it’s not going to go well. Philly fans gave up on him, or are starting to give up on him. It’ll probably be good for him to go somewhere else.”

Shaq then went on to explain why he hasn't lost all hope on Ben Simmons. In his mind, O'Neal believes that the want-away Sixers star could actually come back with a Stephen Curry-like vengeance in 2021-22:

“I follow him and he’s been shooting that jumper on his page,” Shaq said. “So if he does come back his jumper better be Steph Curry’s.”

The Golden State Warriors have been linked to a move for Simmons, so perhaps they see the 25-year-old as the next Steph Curry?

Shaq was clearly joking, though. Simmons will have a lot to prove next season, so he'll definitely be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Nevertheless, there's just absolutely no way Ben Simmons comes close to Stephen Curry in any shape or form.
