The Philadelphia Sixers acquired Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second round pick early Saturday afternoon. With the trade, the Sixers odds of winning a title have increased significantly. Before the trade, they were a +2200 to win the title, per Bleacher Report.

Yes, the Warriors are by far the favorites to win the title this season. Followed by Boston and Toronto. Then, Houston Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

The Sixers are 8-5 and are the third seed in the Eastern Conference. They are behind the Raptors and Bucks.

With Jimmy Butler now a member of the Sixers, it will be interesting to see how well he meshes with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Butler could not mesh with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, so, the doubt of him possibly not meshing with Simmons and Embiid is okay to have.

Here are some stats on the Sixers before the Butler trade from Bleacher Report. The Sixers are hoping these stats improve with the addition.

They rank 21st in offensive efficiency, and there's little indication Markelle Fultz has fixed his shot with a 39.5 field-goal percentage. Butler gives the 76ers a dominant all-around talent who is averaging 21.3 points per game with a track record of playing at an elite level.

With two of their shooters gone in Covington and Saric, the offensive efficiency could dip a little bit after the trade. The spacing won't be there on the floor.

In order to contend and win a title in today's NBA, you need three point shooting. The Sixers may have to go out shopping for another shooter or two here between now and the trade deadline.
