Tobias Harris' role with the Philadelphia 76ers changed when James Harden joined the team, from being the second option on the offense to being relegated to third or even fourth. Instead of complaining, though, the veteran scorer is embracing the situation as he looks for other ways to make an impact.

Since Harden made his Sixers debut last Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Harris has struggled offensively. In the showdown with Minnesota, he made just six points on 2-of-6 shooting. It's a similar scenario in their following game with the New York Knicks, where he scored just two points through third quarters before going for 10 in the final period and finishing with 12.

While there have been a lot of concerns about his scoring, Harris played the issue down and highlighted that scoring is not his only role. He pointed out the team's emphasis on winning basketball, which means he has to do everything he can to help the team win beyond just scoring.

“Everyone has this notion of you’ve got to score this many points or that,” Harris said of his struggles, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I get it, but at the end of the day like I said, I’m a winner and I [contribute] to winning basketball. If that is me taking 15 shots, if that’s me taking eight shots, it is what it is. As long as we’re winning basketball games, that’s what the name of the game is about.

“A lot of people don’t like to hear that, but that’s the predicament we’re in now. We have a lot of firepower, especially with James and Joel on the team.”

Tobias Harris is averaging 18.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season. As mentioned prior to James Harden, he was the team's second-best scoring option behind Joel Embiid.

While he may have been lost in their current system with Harden managing the playmaking and boosting the scoring, the team remains committed in acclimating Harris as quick as possible. Harden himself said as much after their game with the Knicks, sharing that they want to get the forward more involved and take as much open shots as he can.

Harris seems to be getting comfortable with playing alongside Harden, so that's good news for the Sixers. Hopefully, though, the team and the fans can get to see what Philly looks like with all their firepower clicking.
