Apparently, Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul was not supposed to play in Game 4 of their playoffs series against the Los Angeles Lakers. As expected, though, CP3 said no.

After the Suns' 100-92 victory, Paul admitted that head coach Monty Williams told him before the game that the would sit him out due to the shoulder issue that has been bothering him. However, the Suns vet replied with a firm “hell no” before noting that his belief and prayers from his family helped him get through the contest.

“Met with coach before the game. Told me he was going to sit me. I told him hell no. Just give me a couple of minutes to see what I could do. God is good. I come from a praying family. My mom and my dad all day long prayed for me,” an emotional Paul shared to ESPN, via Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.

Chris Paul was clearly not in great condition heading into the contest, as proven by his poor production in their Game 3 loss. In the said bout, the battle-tested playmaker contributed just seven points, five rebounds and six assists. With the way he played, it was not surprising for the Suns to consider sitting him out despite the threat of going down 3-1 to the Lakers.
