Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker was among the notable players “snubbed” from this season's NBA All-Star Game. The former first-round pick spoke with members of the media, noting that the NBA that he fell in love with as a kid has changed over the years.

When asked for his reaction to being left out, the Suns star initially quipped that he'll be getting “more rest,” according to a report from Gina Mizell of The Athletic. He later elaborated on his stance:

“It just re-proves the point that the NBA is different than the game that I fell in love with at the beginning,” Booker said. “All the best players made the All-Star game growing up watching that. Now it’s an entertainment-, drama-, political-filled league. But we’re a part of it now. It pays well, so I guess we should be quiet about it.”

Booker isn't the only notable player to speak up in anger about not making the All-Star Game. Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal feels disrespected by the snub, and both his agent and fiancée also lambasted the All-Star selection process.

Booker is enjoying a fantastic season with the Suns, who are currently holding a 20-27 overall record. He has made 44 appearances, racking up averages of 27.1 points on 51.0 percent shooting from the field (36.8 percent from beyond the arc), 6.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and just under one steal (0.8) in 36.0 minutes per outing.

Booker and the Suns will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip-off inside Talking Stick Resort Arena is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
