Article Continues BelowDeAndre Ayton and star shooting guard Devin Booker are the two franchise cornerstones for the Suns. If each of them isn't playing well and bringing it every night, the team is not only going to lose, but the rest of the players aren't going to play with effort either.
Ayton and Booker are in a tough spot in Phoenix. They are both so young, yet have been placed in a position where they have to be leaders for this organization to turn things around. It's not going to be pretty by any means, but the hope in Phoenix is that the two youngsters can eventually lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
Deandre Ayton, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Arizona, is averaging 16.7 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game this season. The 20-year-old is shooting 60.7 percent from the field and 77.0 percent from the free-throw line.
The Suns are going to be a lottery team again this season. They are 9-31 on the year entering Saturday.
