Before Saturday night's primetime game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena, head coach Gregg Popovich spoke with the media about his team's upcoming contest against the defending NBA champions.

According to a tweet posted by writer Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News before Saturday night's contest, coach Popovich delivered another one of his classic quotes when asked about Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Golden State's problems with technical fouls.

“To be frank with you, I don't really worry about any of the problems they might have because they deserve problems,” Popovich said jokingly.

Coach Kerr had his own fun earlier on Saturday when asked about Popovich, according to a video posted to the Warriors on NBCS official Twitter account.

“I just like seeing Pop. We’re good friends,” Kerr said on Saturday. “Always fun to see him before the game and chat a little bit. He calls my son a spy. He said my son could be working for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, so you know, it’s that kind of conversation when we get together.”

Popovich and Kerr go pretty far back. During two separate stints as a player with the Spurs under coach Popovich, Kerr won two championship rings in the 1999 and 2003 NBA Finals against the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets, respectively.

As the Spurs continue to deal with the absence of star small forward Kawhi Leonard due to injury issues, they still have compiled a respectable 35-21 record heading into Saturday night's road contest.
