Phoenix Suns rookie forward Josh Jackson had a few interesting takes during an appearance on a YouTube video feature by Vice, but perhaps none was more interesting than when he compared himself to Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry.

Jackson was answering questions while strolling down the street, and when it was time for him to say the player that he thinks stands directly on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to their skill sets, the former Kansas Jayhawk didn’t hesitate to utter the name of the two-time MVP guard.

“The player that I compare least to is probably Steph Curry just because he is known as a shooter and I’m not, and you know, he’s small and unathletic.”

Jackson is right that he’s not on the same level as Curry when it comes to shooting the rock from deep, but really, who is? Jackson made 37.8 percent of his three-point attempts in his lone season for the Jayhawks, while Curry is a career 43.8 percent three-point shooter in the NBA.

As for Jackson calling Curry small and unathletic, those are adjectives that aren’t new to the two-time champion guard, whose scouting reports from different NBA scouts were littered with such labels. Still, it’s a subjective assessment with some convinced that Curry is just as athletic as anyone in the NBA despite the lack of highlight reel dunks and explosive hops.

Jackson, selected fourth by Phoenix in this year’s NBA Draft, is about to find that out himself as he’ll surely cross paths with Curry this coming season.
