In his 17th year of his career, veteran center Tyson Chandler has continued on through in his third year with the Phoenix Suns.
However, Chandler has hit the back end of his career with his playing days winding down, as he nears two decades in the league. The 35-year-old is in a situation where he's playing with a young and up-and-coming team that is far from championship aspirations.
Despite that being the case, Chandler recently revealed to Michael Lee of The Vertical that there is still one major thing driving him to keep on going.

I don’t want to walk away and be like, ‘Damn, I wish I would’ve gone a little harder,’ even though things weren’t right. Because you’re only going to remember the end. I’ll be able to remember the good times, but the end is what’s going to stick out in my mind. I want to be able to say, regardless of what happened, I came to work every day. One day, I’m going to have to talk to my son and tell him, ‘This is what I did. You can do it. Got to move forward.’ I wouldn’t be able to look at myself if I didn’t.”
Chandler has put together quite a respectable career while playing for six teams, one that has seen him earn an NBA title, as well as a list of accolades, including being named Defensive Player of the Year.
He has been without a doubt one of the most consistently productive big men in the league throughout his career and has earned tremendous respect around the league from his peers.
If anything, Chandler's legacy has been set for quite some time and his play at this point of his career has only added to it.
Chandler is in the third year of his four-year, $52 million deal, one which does not include a player or team option for the 2017-18 campaign. There is no indication of whether this is his last contract or not, he clearly has the motivation to keep on going well beyond that, if desired.
