A major shift in momentum has struck the Atlanta Hawks, and not for the better.
After taking a 2-0 series lead over the Boston Celtics, Atlanta has fallen twice in a row in close games on the road to even the series. Game 4 was especially notable because they held a 16-point advantage before Marcus Smart went on a tear to put the Celtics ahead late.
After some clutch buckets from both sides in the final minute, the game eventually went to overtime before the C's pulled it out. Once the final buzzer of regulation sounded with the score tied, Hawks fans immediately began dreading the ensuing outcome though.
Why? Because Atlanta had lost eight consecutive games in OT before then. Sunday made it nine, and now the Hawks have gone 25 months without a playoff victory. Staggering.
In fact, one more OT loss will tie the Hawks for the NBA record for the longest losing streak in regular season and playoff overtime games.

Teague's slip-up on this play continued another troubling trend for the Hawks. According to Mike Conti of 92.9 The Game, Atlanta has now missed their last 13 shots inside of one second to either win or tie the game.
The Hawks were dominated in overtime, getting outscored by Boston 12-3. It was especially disappointing for Atlanta given the historic performance by Paul Millsap.
Also, 45+ pts, 13+ rebounds, 4+ blocks and 3+ assists has never happened in an NBA Playoff game until Millsap did that tonight.
