Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal is still in disbelief after his team was the victim of a gentleman's sweep in the first round of the playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers. After an impressive 2020-2021 NBA Season, Beal and the Wizards season is officially over and they now have a long summer ahead of them to try and see if this unit can run it back again next season.
After a tough 129-112 loss on Wednesday, Beal continues to bet on himself and his team. If it were just on him, his team would still be battling it out against the Sixers.
“I still strongly believe in my heart that we could have taken them to 7,” Beal said (via NBA Central).

Unfortunately, Beal and the Wizards were totally outclassed by the Sixers. Though Washington got one win on the road in Game 4, the Sixers made sure that Game 5 was the last game of this series even with the absence of their MVP candidate in Joel Embiid.
Beal should keep his head high, though. The 27-year-old had another incredible NBA season, scoring a career-high of 31.3 points per game during the regular season which was second-best in the league. Alongside former MVP Russell Westbrook, the Wizards fiery backcourt propelled Washington from a struggling team to start the season to one of the scariest teams in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
If Beal decides to stay and the Wizards core remains in tact with the young stars gaining a ton of experience this season, this Wizards team should be on all our radars as soon as the 2021-22 NBA season tips off.
