Damian Lillard has had his fair share of heated battles against fellow All-Star Russell Westbrook over the years. Still, the Portland Trail Blazers superstar made sure to give credit when it's due, complimenting Westbrook for his fine performance in the Washington Wizards' 149-146 upset over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

Dame addressed one of his followers' questions about his thoughts on Westbrook's best game of the season so far. The 30-year-old scorer offered a short but definitely meaningful response.

Apart from pouring in a season-high 41 points against the Nets, Russell Westbrook was responsible for completing his team's mighty comeback win at Capital One Arena. After Bradley Beal brought his team within two with a clutch 3-pointer, it was the one-time MVP who delivered the coup de grace. Following a crucial steal by Garrison Matthews on the Nets' inbound, Westbrook showcased his clutch gene by cashing a corner triple to put his Wizards on the driver's seat.

Washington completed the come-from-behind victory and put an end to their four-game slump. Westbrook had his most efficient outing since moving to D.C., going 16-of-28 from deep and 4-for-7 from downtown, along with all-around numbers of 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block in 35 minutes.

Damian Lillard, on the other hand, appreciated Russ' resilience and couldn't help but give his old rival some props for his bounce-back performance. Brodie, after all, has been receiving flak since joining the Wizards for his inability to lead the team to more win  despite putting up big numbers most nights.

Lillard, meanwhile, recently hit a buzzer-beating game-winner of his own, sinking the Chicago Bulls with a cold step-back dagger.
