There are crazy bets and then there is this betting on the Washington Wizards to win the NBA title this season.

That's exactly one bettor did as he placed a $10,000 bet on the struggling squad to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season. The wager could win him as much as $5,000,000 (via BetMGM).

Unless they magically acquire LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic, it's safe to say the Wizards won't win the NBA title this year. Or even next year. Or even two years from now.

Despite the prolific duo of Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook manning the show, the Wizards have stumbled to a lowly 8-17 record, third-worst in the NBA behind the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detriot Pistons. While they haven't had any problems putting the ball in the hoop with 113.2 points per game, which is 12th in the NBA, their woes lie on the defensive end, giving up 119.1 points an outing, second-worst in the NBA behind the Sacramento Kings.

Rumors are still ripe that the Wizards could trade away Beal, who's having a stellar campaign, leading the NBA in scoring with 33.1 points per game. This could only compound the problems of the Wizards, who have been relying heavily on Beal to provide production.

Betting on the Wizards to win the NBA title this year is like betting Bad Boys for Life will win Best Picture in the upcoming 93rd Oscars. But hey, if the Wizards, by some stroke of absolute luck or inexplicable mystical intervention, beat the mighty odds, that hopeful bettor has five million ways to say “Told you so!”
