Kuzma is averaging 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season. The latter two stats are the highest he has ever averaged, which shows his growth as a player. With Bradley Beal sidelined with a wrist injury, Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis have emerged as the Wizards' leading scorers.

With Beal's future in Washington uncertain amid trade rumors, Kuzma is a very important part of the team's future. The 26-year-old's improvement makes him a key piece in their rebuild. His playmaking and defense have been important all season but they have been especially important since Beal went down.

The NBA's official injury report states that Stephen Curry will miss tonight's game, giving the Wizards a better opportunity to take the win. They have a record of 31-42, which is the 12th best in the Eastern Conference. They are 5.5 games back from reaching the play-in game.
