Tom Thibodeau has a penchant for bringing former Chicago Bulls to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He seems to place a high value on familiarity. According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Thibodeau is keeping an eye on his former player Joakim Noah's fluid situation in New York.

Noah was exiled from the New York Knicks last season after an altercation with Jeff Hornacek. It's unclear how he fits into David Fizdale's vision for the Knicks' future.

Phil Jackson signed Noah to a disastrous four-year $72.5 million contract in 2016 and the new regime may be looking for a way out. If the Knicks do choose to buy out his contract or stretch his it, the Timberwolves would be an interesting landing spot for the former Defensive Player of the Year.

Thibodeau has brought some of his former players to Minnesota before. Thibodeau and the Timberwolves traded for Jimmy Butler during the summer of 2017. He also brought in former MVP Derrick Rose during the 2017-18 season. Much like Noah, Rose came to Minnesota with serious baggage after a failed stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Noah only played in seven games for New York last season. He was underwhelming in those performances. But if anyone could revive Noah's career, it may be Thibodeau. The 6-foot-11 center would be a reclamation project for the Timberwolves, but it's unclear if he will end up becoming available.

He still has two years left on his deal with the Knicks. But it's clear that his former coach is keeping an eye on Noah.
