The Nebraska Cornhuskers seek ways to improve their team after their 2023-24 college football season ended in a losing 5-7 record. Now, the Cornhuskers are eyeing Ohio State Buckeyes QB Kyle McCord. McCord entered the transfer portal after Ohio State's devastating loss to the Michigan Wolverines.

Nebraska football could look for help in proven Buckeyes QB

Assistant Cornhuskers coach Marcus Satterfield is on a flight to Columbus, Ohio to visit Kyle McCord, per 247Huskers. Nebraska is on a mission to bolster its quarterback depth after a down year.

Sophomore Heinrich Haarberg threw for 967 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also led the team with 477 rushing yards. Yet, the Cornhuskers are looking for ways to further bolster their offense.

Kyle McCord will provide a much-needed spark to Nebraska. McCord has thrown for 3,170 yards and six TDs during the 2023-24 season. The junior QB boasts a QBR of 83.7, good enough to rank him at eighth in the nation.

McCord and the Buckeyes had a phenomenal regular season, but they fell to the Wolverines 30-24 in their last game. McCord, who had only thrown four interceptions on the year, threw two in the game against Michigan. However, part of his struggles were due to the Wolverines' top-ranked defense.

The Ohio State QB seems to be looking for a fresh start after the Buckeyes failed to make the College Football Playoff. Could McCord help improve Nebraska's record and help them climb the Big 10 standings?

The Huskers have many decisions to make, but they surely can make improvements and get back to a winning record in 2024.
