For years, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant has been described as a 7-footer. Despite being listed at 6'9″ in most media guides, Durant's height and absurd reach seemed to indicate otherwise.

The NBA just instituted a new rule mandating that all teams provide accurate height and weight measurements for all of their players prior to the first preseason game. But this new rule has not done much to change Durant's own measurements.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, the Nets are listing Durant at 6'10,” which should only spur more suspicion about how the new rule is being monitored and implemented:

Durant's combination of size, reach and touch have made him one of the most unguardable offensive players in NBA history. He has the ability to raise up above defenders from anywhere on the league while also possessing enough strength and agility to get to the cup.

Of course, NBA fans will not be able to Durant's physical prowess this season. The 31-year-old will miss the duration of the regular season as he rehabs from a torn Achilles tendon.

The Nets pulled a fast one on the crosstown rival Knicks by singing both Durant and Kyrie Irving this summer, and they figure to contend in the Eastern Conference for years to come.

Although Durant will sit out this season, Brooklyn will be looking for Irving to lead a roster that is mostly the same as it was when the Nets made the playoffs as a seventh seed last year.
