Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant was the most high-profile NBA athlete who tested positive for COVID-19 back in March.

Now fully recovered from the respiratory virus, the one-time NBA MVP opened up about undergoing the harrowing ordeal, per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“I feel good. I didn’t have any symptoms so I am good. I couldn’t leave the house. I knew things would change. The unknown was definitely difficult to deal with. But other than that, I was great,” Kevin Durant shared.

Durant and three other Nets players were confirmed to have the virus just a few weeks after the NBA decided to suspend its season indefinitely.

The two-time NBA champion also recalled his initial reaction upon getting word of his prognosis

“I was shocked. And then I was curious. I wanted to know what it meant. What is the virus about? I started to get information about it more and more. It calmed me down. … I was just more curious to what I was dealing with and how I could fight it myself,” the Nets superstar shared.

While the rest of his COVID-19 positive teammates opted not to have their identities revealed, Durant bravely announced to the public the results of his tests. His positive diagnosis proved how infectious the virus could be, considering Durant never even played a single second this season.

With that horrendous experience now behind him, Durant is continuing on his path to rehabilitation from the Achilles injury he suffered in last year's Finals. The 10-time All-Star is expected to return to full form for the Nets next season.
