Blake Griffin's much-awaited Brooklyn Nets debut finally arrived on Sunday as they took care of business at home against the Washington Wizards. Though Griffin only played 15 minutes as he's still recouping from his knee issue, his impact was obvious and promising if you ask Nets coach Steve Nash.

Nash, obviously, was more than happy to see the six-time All-Star forward suit up for the very first time (via Kristian Winfield of NY Daily News).

Griffin tallied just two points, a couple of rebounds, and a block in his Nets debut. His only bucket came on a slam though, his first time to actually touch the rim on a dunk since 2019. The former Mayor of Lob City has joined former Los Angeles Clippers teammate DeAndre Jordan as they try to reunite their high-flying days.

With the likes of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant (whenever he gets back on the floor) all in the Nets' starting lineup, Nash has tasked Griffin to lead the reserve squad and come off the bench. And against the Wizards, Griffin's contribution, per Nash, was great, even if he was still on a minutes restriction. He ended up with a team-high of +12 and was able to provide energy and leadership in the Nets' second unit.

At 32 years old and ravaged by a rash of injuries, Blake Griffin is obviously past his prime. But judging by his performance on Sunday, he can still definitely contribute. He can still score a bunch of points if given the opportunity. With his return, don't be surprised if the Nets make it all the way to the NBA Finals.
