The New York Giants recently parted ways with veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall in a move that was surprising but not shocking. Fellow veteran wideout Dez Bryant, formerly of the division rival Dallas Cowboys, had expressed interested in staying in the NFC East after he was released and New York seemed like the logical destination, especially after Marshall's release.

However, the Giants have seemingly gone in another direction with the recent signing of Russell Shepard leaving both Bryant and Marshall unemployed. The market appears to be dwindling for these two former All-Pro wide receivers, but Marshall might not be looking for a new job much longer.

“We have a great understanding about the market, my agent and I, Kennard McGuire,” Marshall told TMZ Sports. “And I'm just trying to enjoy my last week of being unemployed.”

Although Marshall didn't name a team he may potentially be signing with nor did he give an exact date as to when he might be signed outside of claiming he'll be employed next week, it seems as though he may not be available much longer.

If Marshall is truthful in his statement, the veteran seems to have offers he's mulling over with a decision forthcoming. The 34-year-old has been a free agent for over a month now and may still be able to produce on the field when healthy.

Much like his former Giants teammate Odell Beckham last year, Marshall dealt with an ankle injury which ended his 2017 campaign prematurely. He finished with 18 receptions for 154 yards in five games for New York before his season came to an end.
