Brett Favre's name has been in the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons. A few months ago, the former Green Bay Packers QB was incriminated in a massive $8 million welfare fund scandal. Now, more testimony has come to light, further incriminating Favre in this massive news.

A testimony from Nancy New (who was earlier incriminated in this scandal) revealed that Mississippi governor Phil Bryant ordered to send Brett Favre $1.1 million in welfare funds. The reason, according to the testimony was as follows:

She specifically mentions Bryant regarding $1.1 million in money paid to Favre “in consideration for Favre speaking at events, keynote speaking, radio and promotional events, and business partner development.”

Favre has since repaid the $1.1 million reportedly given to him by Bryant, as well as other favors he received. According to the ex-NFL QB, he had no idea that the money came from welfare funds. Favre was not criminally charged for his involvement.

Brett Favre found himself in trouble a few months ago when an investigative article revealed his role in the welfare fund scandal. According to leaked text messages, the QB himself knew where the funds were coming from, and repeatedly asked for extra money. The total reportedly came to just around $8 million.

It's unclear whether Brett Favre will now be charged after these latest reports. Favre found himself in probably the largest corruption scandal in the history of the state. We will keep you updated on any developments surrounding this massive story.
