Eric Weddle isn't letting his recent release from the Baltimore Ravens get him down, and he's announced that he's ready for the next move.

Weddle was recently let go by the Ravens — a move that many considered surprising, but not completely unexpected. And while Weddle originally said that he was interested in retiring from football if the Ravens had let him go, he seems to have changed his mind, according to a new report.

NBC Sports is reporting that Weddle feels that he's in an advantageous spot, and a spot that he wants to take advantage of while the “irons  are still hot.”

He said that he wasn't surprised that he got let go from the Ravens, for what it's worth.

“I’m in a great spot. The longer I wait, the teams are going to move on to the other guys.” From that standpoint, Weddle and Eric Reid could be the winners in this market, even if they aren’t the highest-paid. Reid took an extension from the Panthers last month, securing his bag before there were more hands trying to snatch it.”

Weddle is certainly getting his fair share of interest from other teams, including the New England Patriots, so he can take comfort in knowing that he won't be unemployed for long, and he'll probably get on with a good team. It will be interesting to see where he ultimately ends up, however, and we will keep you posted on all developments as they arose.
