New Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette seems pretty excited about his new team and his new quarterback in Tom Brady.

Brady is a legend and clear-cut future first-ballot Hall of Famer. So there is reason for Fournette to be excited.

With that in mind, it is no surprise to see Fournette already praising Brady. However, the way he praised him is a little surprising.

According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, the running back stated made it clear how happy he is to have a legitimate passer and teammate.

That's high praise of Brady technically, but it is also just absolutely massive shade to the other quarterbacks he has had in his career.

Fournette's main quarterbacks when he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars were Blake Bortles and Gardner Minshew. Bortles had a few big seasons where people thought he might actually be the answer for the franchise at the position. Things did not work out though.

Then Minshew came in last season as a sixth-round draft pick and surprised everyone with his play in his rookie year.

Minshew ended with 3,271 yards and 21 touchdown passes (six interceptions) while appearing in 14 games. Those are pretty solid numbers.

However, it appears Fournette is not very high on either of those two. And he is now ready to have Brady at the position. The running back has always been known as an outspoken player. We need to be fair to him here, though. There is a very strong chance that came out a lot worse than he actually meant it.

Fournette has never shown much ill will towards Bortles or Minshew. So it's hard to imagine he purposely threw this hard of a jab at both of them. This was likely more just excitement. Leonard Fournette was trying to find the words to brag about Brady. They ended up coming out as a legitimate shot at his ex-quarterbacks in Jacksonville.

The NFL regular season starts on Thursday and we're already getting some interesting moments and rivals are brewing. It's football season.
