Both the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers have been playing terrific football this season, and at least one sportsbook has already released odds for a possible Super Bowl 53 meeting between the two franchises.
According to BetOnline.ag, a Rams-Chargers meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta next February has odds of +1,800. In other words, a $100 bet on a Rams-Chargers Super Bowl 53 meeting would potentially yield $1,800 in winnings
It’s not a bold thing to say that the Rams are going to reach the Super Bowl. After all, they have a 9-1 record. Barring a spectacular collapse, the Rams are going to win the NFC West division title, meaning they have virtually assured their spot in the playoffs. However, the New Orleans Saints appear to be a big obstacle for the Rams in the playoffs, especially after Drew Brees and company handed Los Angeles its first loss of the season back in Week 9.
As for the Chargers, they are a mild surprise this season. Behind the strong play of quarterback Philip Rivers, the Chargers have raced to a 7-2 record through the first 10 weeks of the season. The Chargers’ chances of topping the AFC West aren’t as high as that of the Rams winning their own division because they play in the same group as the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s hard to deny the impressive showing of the Bolts this season.
If we’re indeed headed to a Rams-Chargers Super Bowl showdown, then we’ve already seen a preview of that. The Rams defeated Philip Rivers and company back in Week 3, 35-23.
