A whirlwind of an NFL offseason has brought player movement, blockbuster trades and a ton of excitement for the 2022 season to start. The league gave its fans even more reason to get hyped for the return of NFL Football after their major schedule announcement on Thursday. Football fans will be treated to a rematch of Super Bowl LV between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs, featuring star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. NFL Network's Good Morning Football has the details.

There it is! Buccaneers and Chiefs. Brady and Mahomes. The NFL and its fans will get to kick back and watch these two teams go head-to-head for the first time since their highly anticipated Super Bowl showdown in Week 4 of the upcoming season.

The Buccaneers-Chiefs game is set to be a primetime game on NBC. The last time these two teams met, Brady got the better of Mahomes, as Tampa Bay emerged with a 31-9 victory. However, the two stars have faced off four other times in the regular season, splitting the matchups evenly between them.

In regular season contests against Brady, Mahomes has averaged 348 passing yards per game with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers star checks in with just over 300 yards per game, six scores and five interceptions.

However, Brady has that all-important NFL Super Bowl ring, which is the ultimate edge in their matchup. If Mahomes wasn't already motivated enough by the Chiefs' disappointing finish to last season, a battle against the Buccaneers with a chance for revenge should get the juices flowing. Brady should be similarly motivated after an early playoff exit.

Week 4 can't come soon enough.
