The Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins will play in an inter-conference matchup on Sunday. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Falcons-Dolphins prediction and pick.

The Falcons (2-3) and Dolphins (1-5) would have probably both liked to get off to better starts this season. Matt Ryan and Kyle Pitts looked good for Atlanta in Week 5 before their bye week, now they just need to get Calvin Ridley going. The offense has improved each week under Arthur Smith, seemingly, while the Dolphins have their own set of issues coming off a loss in London vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Falcons-Dolphins odds for this Sunday matchup.

NFL Odds: Falcons-Dolphins Odds

Atlanta Falcons -2.5 (-106), -130 ML

Miami Dolphins +2.5 (-114), -110 ML

Over 47 points (-114)

Under 47 points (-106)

Why The Falcons Can Cover The Spread

Another year of Matt Ryan being wrote, but another year of solid production and QB play by the veteran at the end of the day. Since the Falcons Week 1 debacle vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, Ryan has looked much like the player he's been throughout his career. Kyle Pitts broke out for 119 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 vs. the New York Jets, with the Falcons picking up the win in London despite Calvin Ridley being out due to personal reasons. Ridley is set to return for Week 7 in Miami. Defensively, Atlanta has unsurprisingly turned in mix returns so far in 2021, but they also seem to be improving in their new scheme under Dean Pees. The Falcons have a great chance to get back to .500 vs. the struggling Dolphins on Sunday.

Why The Dolphins Can Cover The Spread

Miami has lost five straight games, and desperately needs a win. If the Dolphins lose again on Sunday. head coach Brian Flores might start feeling his seat get a little warm. Injuries and overall bad play have left to the demise of Miami's season so far. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned in London in Week 6, and looked okay but has a costly interception that helped the Jaguars force overtime and get the win. Miami will need to right the ship quickly if they want to live up to their preseason plans of competing for a playoff spot in the AFC.

Final Falcons-Dolphins Prediction & Pick

The Falcons and Dolphins seem to be headed in opposite directions. The Falcons are coming off a bye week, and two weeks further along in learning the new systems of their all new coaching staff than they were two weeks ago when they beat the Jets pretty easily. The offense looked good in Week 4 as well vs. the Washington Football Team, in what was another late collapse by the Falcons defense. Miami is reeling and has some key players on the fence injury wise for Week 7. Take the Falcons to cover the points.

FINAL FALCONS-DOLPHINS PREDICTION & PICK: Falcons 2.5 (-106)
