It’s finally December and that is something the Los Angeles Rams are happy about. They take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. It’s time to continue our NFL odds series with a Jaguars-Rams prediction and pick.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a close 21-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Trevor Lawrence attempted 42 passes but completed only 23 of them for 228 yards. He threw one touchdown to Tavon Austin but also threw an interception as well. The offense runs through him which hasn’t been successful at all this year. James Robinson is a very talented running back but he’s dealt with injury this year which has limited his production. The last time they won they didn’t even score a touchdown. But hey, at least they had more wins in November than the Rams.
For more insight on the Jaguars-Rams matchup in Week 13, listen below:
November was a brutal month for the Rams. On a somewhat positive note, they played really good teams during their three-game losing streak. They lost to the (8-4) Tennessee Titans, (6-5) San Francisco 49ers, and (9-3) Green Bay Packers. The Rams are in desperate need of a win and that is something that should happen in Week 13. The Jaguars are not going to compete for a playoff spot this year and the Rams need to take advantage of the favorable opponent.
Let’s see how FanDuel set the odds for Sunday afternoon.

Why The Jaguars Could Cover The Spread
A professional football team should be able to cover 13 points but I don’t think that is going to be the case on Sunday. By the numbers, both teams’ defenses aren’t far apart. The Jaguars actually are better against the pass this season which is a surprise. The Jaguars are really going to need to focus on that this week. Matt Stafford is going to target Copper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr., and Van Jefferson all game long. The Jags need to contain them and make sure the pass-game doesn’t beat them if they want a chance at covering. Offensively, Trevor Lawrence will need to really step up because he’s going up against a really good defense. The Rams defense has given up quite a bit of points lately so the Jags need to take advantage of that.
Why The Rams Could Cover The Spread
The Rams have a great chance of covering this spread, but it is a big one. They need a win badly and I think they will get it. Winning by two touchdowns is a tough question, but I think they can do it. Kupp is continuing to play very well and he should be a major factor in the Rams offense this week. Darnell Henderson Jr. will also be utilized a ton and he will need to play great for them to cover. The biggest concern for the Rams’ offense right now is Stafford’s turnovers. He really needs to limit those because we have already seen the Jags defense take advantage of that as they did against the Buffalo Bills. If Stafford doesn’t turn the ball over then the Rams should have no problem covering this spread.
Final Jaguars-Rams Prediction & Pick
This is a risky one but I’m taking the Rams to cover. They are going to do whatever it takes to win this game and I don’t think the Jags are going to hold for long. The game could end up getting out of hand and that is the momentum the Rams need right now. Jag’s elite linebacker Josh Allen will try and do whatever it takes to disrupt Stafford’s rhythm but I don’t think it will be enough.
Final Jaguars-Rams Prediction & Pick: Rams -13 (-110)
