The Los Angeles Rams host their divisional rival Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Wild Card on Monday night. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Cardinals-Rams prediction and pick.

The NFL might have saved the best game for last on Wild Card Weekend. The NFC West champs will host the team that led the division for most of the season.

The Cardinals started out the season on fire. Running out of the gates 7-0 until Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers came into town and spoiled their undefeated season. The Cardinals struggled after that, winning just four of their final 10 games and ending 11-6 on the season. That is still a record to be proud of but they can't let a successful season go to waste with a first-round exit.

Los Angeles snuck past late in the year and stole the NFC West from the Cardinals. They better be careful because Arizona will come in upset and ready for a battle. The Rams ended the year 12-5 and won five of their final six games. That was a needed run as they put themselves in a position to host a playoff game for the first time in SoFi Stadium. This will be a battle of two former No. 1 overall picks at quarterback.

Why The Cardinals Could Cover The Spread

The Cardinals will likely have running back James Conner available for the game. He's been on the injured list for a few weeks battling various injuries. With him available, the Cardinals' odds of winning this game increase. Conner practiced this week but he will be a game-time decision on Monday. These two teams split during the regular season. The Cardinals won the first and LA the second. Arizona is hoping they can get back to the groove that they were in to start the season. If we see that, then Arizona should be in a great position to cover this spread.

Kyler Murray put up an MVP caliber season for the majority of the year, but he will likely not win the MVP this season due to the final stretch of the season. Either way, the Cardinals are still a very good team and will make this game very difficult for the Rams. They need their offense to be on point because they will be going up against another tough defense in the Rams. They contain Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald, who both were honored as First-Team All-Pro this season. Arizona needs to make sure those two aren't a huge factor and if that is the case, then the Cardinals will be in this game until the end.

Why The Rams Could Cover The Spread

Mathew Stafford ended the season in a tiny slump so they will need him to be at his best on Monday night. Cooper Kupp is coming off one of the best seasons you will ever see from the wide receiver position. LA desperately needs the Stafford-Kupp connection to be on point if they want a chance to move on to the next round. They are favored by just over a field goal against the Cardinals so they will need to win by at least a touchdown to really cover this spread. The Cardinals aren't going to make it easy on them, this is a team that many considered had a chance to win the Super Bowl, even though it was early in the season. The Rams certainly have those expectations as well, but they might have their toughest opponent yet in front of them for Monday night.

LA will win this game on the defensive side of the ball. They must force Murray to make mistakes and they also must not let Conner or Chase Edmonds run all over them. DeAndre Hopkins is a nightmare to cover but Ramsey will be on him all game long. LA just recently brought back safety Eric Weddle out of retirement. He could be a huge boost for the Rams that need help in the secondary. Safety Taylor Rapp and corner Jordan Fuller will not play against the Cardinals. They will need to rely on Ramsey and Weddle in the secondary. Safety Terrell Burgess should get a chance to play a lot of snaps. LA gave up 37 to the Cardinals in their first meeting, but I don't think that will happen again in a playoff atmosphere.

Final Cardinals-Rams Prediction & Pick

The Rams are at home and are playing like the better team right now. Arizona is no joke either though, as they could easily win this game. I feel as if the Rams will show up on the defensive side of the ball which will help get them to the next round. This is going to be an exciting game to watch and probably the best of the six on Wild Card Weekend. Take the Rams at home here as well as the over.

Final Cardinals-Rams Prediction & Pick: Rams -3.5 (-108) & over: 49.5 (-110)
