Caleb Williams is almost the consensus prediction to be selected first in the 2024 NFL Draft but the Commanders have emerged as a team to watch out for as April 25th nears. Per Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN.com the new ownership of the Washington Commanders are expected to shake things up in several facets of the organization and brining home Williams, a Washington D.C. native, would usher in a new era.

“The Commanders are a team to watch over the coming weeks for a number of reasons,” the article stated. “With new ownership in place, changes are expected on the coaching staff and in the front office — and potentially at quarterback. If the season ended right now, Washington would hold the No. 3 pick in the draft. If it loses its last two and Arizona wins one, it could get as high as No. 2.”

It seems as if the Commanders have put themselves in prime position to move on from Howell, as he was pulled for Jacoby Brissett in the past two games. It seems as if Howell likely won't return this season after starting all 15 games for Washington as the team has announced that he'll be benched against the Super Bowl-contending San Francisco 49ers.

Caleb Williams is expected to be a game-changing talent that could improve the fortunes of an organization. And Washington would be a prime spot for Caleb Williams's talents as Eric Bieniemy serves as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Bieniemy is a name rumored to be a choice to be the head coach of the team if the Commanders look to part ways with Ron Rivera.

The next few months will certainly be interesting as teams prepare to jostle for top position in the draft to select Caleb Williams.
