One of the top remaining free agents on the market may find himself wearing a lot of green next season. Just a few seasons ago, Devonta Freeman was coming off his second-straight Pro Bowl season where he recorded over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns. It was only the former Florida State star's third season in the league, and the future looked impressively bright.

However, things didn't work out so well, and Freeman would see his role and production on the Atlanta Falcons year by year. Now without a job, Freeman will be looking to play for a new team for the first time in his six-year NFL career.

According to Mike Silver of NFL Media, both the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles have shown interest in signing the two-time Pro Bowler. And while Freeman may currently be without a team, the 28-year-old running back has actually already received contract offers from teams such as the Seattle Seahawks. They reportedly offered Freeman a one-year deal worth $4 million.

As for the Eagles, the team heavily leaned on 2019 rookie Miles Sanders to carry the load last season. The team's other RB, Jordan Howard, went and signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins this offseason, which could open the door for Freeman.

For the Jets, despite having two-time First-Team All-Pro performer Le'Veon Bell on the roster, New York was one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL last season from a statistical standpoint. A lot of that criticism has been pointed towards the team's offensive line, but if the Jets are, in fact, interested in Freeman, it's clear that they do not see Bell as the workhorse type back he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
