The Atlanta Falcons didn't look good week one against the Minnesota Vikings, but Doug Pederson still knows what kind of challenge they present for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Pederson knows that the Falcons present a different challenge, especially when they are in Atlanta and is ready for their best shot.

“I still think this is a very good football team,” Pederson said via the Falcons official website. “No indication this past weekend, that’s not who they are at all. This is a good, explosive offense as we know. Defensively, they can be very disruptive. They’ve got speed on defense; Grady Jarrett is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. This is a playoff-caliber team.”

Against the Vikings, the Falcons fell behind early and couldn't get any traction to make a comeback. Matt Ryan did gain a little momentum going late in the game, and that is something that could be carried into this week.

Pederson knows that the defensive side is going to be crucial trying to slow down Julio Jones, Ryan and all the other weapons they have.

“With the firepower they have on offense, it has always come down to understanding who is where. Whether [Mohamed] Sanu is lining up at quarterback or where Julio Jones is, things like that,” Pederson said. “We know Matt Ryan is a great quarterback and can really pick a defense apart if you let him.”

The Falcons also know how important it is to not fall to 0-2, so the Eagles are going to get their best shot.
