Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has been a no-show at team OTAs. Nonetheless, the Falcons expressed total confidence he'll be ready for the upcoming 2019 NFL season.
Falcons assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Raheem Morris told D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (via Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams) on May 30 the team is looking forward to Jones' return. Morris also said the current OTAs are a chance for the other Falcons wide receivers to showcase their abilities.
Julio hasn't been here the last couple of years doing this type of stuff. We look forward to when he comes back. We love Julio. You know that. He knows we love him. We know he loves us.
It's just an opportunity for more guys to show what they can do. I don't think you're ever going to question what Julio can do. I don't think anybody will. I just think there (are) more opportunities for us to learn here.
Nonetheless, the team expects Julio Jones to attend its mandatory mincamp from June 11 to 13, per Ledbetter.

Ledbetter also says Jones is currently negotiating with the Falcons for a contract extension. Ledbetter's colleague at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Michael Cunningham, says Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff “has publicly committed to a pay raise for Jones.”
Cunningham expects Falcons owner Arthur Blank to shell out at least $40 million in guaranteed money to Jones, a four-time Pro Bowl selection. Jones will earn an average annual salary of $10.5 million in the next two years. Dimitroff foresees a smooth contract negotiation process.
Whatever the outcome of Jones' contract talks, expect him to be at the top of his game once the NFL's 100th season kicks off in September.
