It seems Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has been on the hot seat ever since his team blew a 28-3 lead to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl a few seasons ago. With the Falcons never really recovering from the defeat in terms of their success since that moment, Quinn and his men are currently in the midst of another forgettable season in Atlanta. The struggling NFC South franchise is now a dismal 1-6 on the season.

Because of the Falcons' continued troubles, capped by a blowout loss at home at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, Quinn's job status remains in question to say the least. Even so, the Falcons' head coach still does not believe that he has lost his team's respect.

“I understand why the question,” Quinn told reporters after his team's latest loss, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. “It is a fair question, quite honestly, because you spend most of your time trying to connect and get the team to play the way we are capable of — so the answer I would say is, ‘No.' But why am I . . . the disbelief at times of not playing like we are capable of, that could be very frustrating. When you don’t do that you want to look and search and find answers, and that’s what I spend most of my time doing: what tweaks, what changes need to be changed — whether that is personnel or scheme, it’s an assistant in play-calling to apply some attention elsewhere, I’m always trying to do something that is best for the team. Trust me, my ego is never bigger than the team. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to help get us right.”

Quinn and the 1-6 Falcons will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8.
