There are a lot of great wide receiver duos in the NFL. According to David Carr of NFL.com though, the Atlanta Falcons might have the best pair with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley.
“I can't say enough about Julio Jones' dominance over the last six seasons,” Carr wrote. “Since 2014, Jones has 623 receptions and 9,388 receiving yards (both most in the NFL), and he's posted six consecutive seasons with at least 1,300 receiving yards, which ties Torry Holt for the longest such streak in NFL history. He can do it all even when double- or triple-teamed, which he often is, providing Matt Ryan a reliable target in tight windows. The one knock against Jones over the last few seasons has been his relative lack of touchdown production, an area in which Ridley has excelled, logging 17 TD receptions in his first two seasons. The third-year pro, who thrives after the catch and has improved his route running, is hungrier than ever to hit the 1,000-yard mark for the first time. He can accomplish that feat with Jones garnering so much attention from defenses. After ranking fourth in receiving yards among WR duos last season, Jones and Ridley are poised to climb the ladder in 2020.”
Carr has Jones and Ridley ranked number one. They are ahead of Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods of the Los Angeles Rams at number two.
Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin come in third. Rounding out the top five are Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders of the New Orleans Saints and DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals.
Those are all incredible pairings at the position. It is not all that surprising that Jones and Ridley top the list for Carr though.
Jones has long been considered one of the very best in the entire league. Many even go as far as putting him in the number one spot.
Meanwhile, Ridley has emerged and become a star himself recently.

On the other side, Ridley had 63 receptions for 866 yards and seven receiving touchdowns (16th in the NFL). He did all of that in just 13 games.
Ridley was drafted in 2018 and in just two seasons has already made plenty of improvements. A 1,000-yard season seems to be on the horizon. And you just know 1,000 yards is something that comes naturally to Jones.
With Matt Ryan at quarterback, the two will certainly be fed often as well. Therefore, it would not be crazy to see both of them put up massive numbers.
There are plenty of great wide receiver duos in football. It's hard to argue with Carr that Jones and Ridley top the bunch though.
