Julio Jones is mostly known for being a superstar wide receiver and one of the best in the NFL. He also just got paid a massive new contract by the Atlanta Falcons to keep him around long-term. Little did the Falcons know that they weren't just giving Jones big money to be a superstar receiver, they were also getting a big-time defensive hitter.

That's right, Jones switched up his role a bit on Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles with a big hit following a Matt Ryan interception.

For those who missed it live, take a look at the play for yourself and enjoy seeing Jones in action.

Obviously, the Falcons would rather not have to see Jones turn into a defender at any point in any game, but this is just fun. Seeing a wide receiver drop the beat like that will make any football fan smile.

Jones making big-time hits shouldn't surprise anyone though. Standing in at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Jones is an intimidating physical presence, especially for a defensive back to go up against. After this play, defenders will do their best to avoid Jones on any future interception returns.

Maybe the Falcons' defense can utilize Jones in some way. That's obviously a joke, but this was a nice piece of defensive work from the star wideout.
